Having realised I have all this photo storage available as part of my paid lj account, I just spent the last almost two hours transferring all the pictures I've posted from villagephotos to here. So now they're all in one place, and I can save that $5 a month I've been spending needlessly on villagephotos.

Neither of us could sleep past about 5:00 this morning, so we decided to get up and make a nice breakfast, drink tea, stretch, talk, wake up, etc. And Jake was still late for his 9:00 meeting. Go figure. Totally my fault though, because I forget to call him out of the shower after ten minutes as requested, and so he stayed in for almost a half hour. I'm so reliable.

It was in the 30s last night. I actually have socks on right now. I don't even have the windows open for a change.

Tonight we're going to a wool processing mill to collect waste wool that no one else wants. The plan is to make insulative window coverings. Not sure how it will work, but we're going to experiment.

I'm canning some homemade pumpkin butter right now. It smells yummy. If I can bear to part with it, some of it will go to Christmas presents. I only got four small jars of it though. Hopefully we'll make more when my mom gets here. And apple butter. Mmmmmmm...

I have to admit I haven't been keeping up with the whole Tom DeLay thing. You'd think I would, since he and his wife were good friends of my mom's family when she was growing up. I remember when I was a kid she used to talk about them a lot and how much fun she had with them, how nice they were, how she used to babysit for them, etc. I always thought of that every time I would drive by his office. I never actually met them, though. Still, funny how I've been hearing this name all my life without bothering to pay attention to it in the news.

Something new and wonderful must have dripped in the oven, because that lovely stench is back in the apartment. Oh joy.

Ran some errands, bought some stuff, didn't kill anyone. Although that last bit was only because I put a lot of effort into it. It seems to be another Old FOlks Day in Binghamton. Wegmans was a zoo, which for some reason didn't bother me so much, but every time I tried to go anywhere, there was inevitably some three foot tall blue haired woman standing in my way, or in some way trying to piss me off. I wish I could convey to them how lucky they are to have walked out of the place alive. Sometimes we have these close encounters with death and don't even know it. I think they should know it.

In household news, I bought an apple corer, a slotted spoon, a tie rack for Jake's ties that he never wears, and a media rack so I can put all our frickin DVDs together for once. This is going to improve the quality of my life, I just know it.
