Looking for meaning in Christmas

In general, what does Christmas mean to you? Is it all about the cookies and trees and sparklies, or what?
What are the main symbols of Christmas, for you? What do they represent to you? What thoughts/feelings do they elicit?
What do you teach your kids about Christmas, and how? Or, if you don't have kids, what did your parents teach you?
Is Christmas exciting to you? Is it a social time of year, stressful, spiritual, material, what? What stands out in your mind?
Parents, do you find that Christmas is as exciting now as when you were a kid, and is it because of what you do for your kids? Are you the primary orchestrator of Christmas in your life now that you're an adult?
