May. 4th, 2006 06:08 pmMy next door neighbor is very sweet and let me borrow her new camera for a litle while to take pictures of Topie in the dandelions. I'll post some later. I should have thought to use the camera to take pictures of all the soakers. Oh well. I'll do it later. I keep forgetting.
I dug out the old tablecloth my grandma brought back from England. It's a colorful map of London, with various tourist attractions and double decker buses and all kinds of fun stuff. I've decided it's Topie's new playmat, and she seems interested in the picturs. Also, Valeri's John Lennon comforter will be another playmat. I love it so much.
I am worried that I am too wrapped up in buying stuff. I think about it way too much. My mom had a lot of credit card debt for a while because she was bored and would order stuff just to have something to look forward to. I see myself doing the same things sometimes, when the days start to run together and I get mentally bored. I haven't ordered much lately because Topie is so interesting by herself, so that's something. Still, as soon as I've bought my camera, I wonder if I'll go back to baby shopping just because I have the cash available. I don't want Topie to have so much stuff that she gets spoiled, or starts to expect things, or not know how to be creative and innovative. Minimalist. She loves playing with grass outside every bit as much as she likes her haba toys.

Date: 2006-05-05 05:52 am (UTC)i think i will have to 'buy' one or two things or month to wean myself from this multiple packages a week binge i've been on since i was pregnant. its not healthy, i know, but meh!
and i totally use avery's JL comforter as a playmat, which i mentioned in your other post before reading this one. haha. i just don't see how those kinds of comforters are meant to actually be blankets. but by the time the kidlets are toddlers and we've washed them a bunch, they'll be all nice and soft and faded. i was bad...i just got a flannel-backed silk blanket for avery in the mail. they're like $50 and i got a 'second' for half-price though i'm hard pressed to find anything wrong with it. i just don't know what i'm going to do with a silk blanket. its so soft and pretty i want to use it all the time, but its so soft and pretty that i don't want to use it all. hehe.
okay, enough rambling - i've got a paper to finish!

Date: 2006-05-05 06:20 am (UTC)I'm glad I'm not the only one with problems ordering stuff online. But really, I can't even remember the last time I ordered something for myself, so maybe that makes it a good thing?

Date: 2006-05-05 08:17 am (UTC)yeah, i don't get too much stuff for myself anymore. though i think i might enjoy the doll diapers and wool cover more than avery will. and everytime i get a new diaper or sling or outfit for him i get all exicted because *i* get to use it. i'm weird.
