Topie got a bit more sun than necessary today. Her cheeks are very pink. I can't believe I let that happen. I just thought she was flushed from being hot and sweaty, but they're still pink and warm hours after being inside. I put some aloe vera gel on her, so maybe that will help. She even had a sunhat on all day. I don't get it. I'm getting her some California Baby sunscreen.

We walked for about five miles on the rail trail, with Topie on my back in the ergo. We decided at the beginning that we should set a goal for ourselves: a cookie from the B&N cafe if we did the whole thing. So that motivated us, through blisters and sun and lack of water.

I finished a couple of hats for Topie, and I'm mostly done with a tank top for her. I have been knitting like crazy.

Ali and Valeri--I'll send you these soakers this week if you want them. $27 each ppd is what I'm thinking, for my friends-only price. Let me know if that's okay.

Making quiche for dinner. It's in the oven and smells really good.

It's okay - I let Benjamin get a little more sun than I should have, too. Luckily, he thinks getting sun screen put on is funny.

What kind do you use?

These things make me so nervous, especially when babycenter tells you that a sunburn on a baby has lifelong effects. Uh oh.

Well it's not *good* for them I'm sure, but I'm not too worried about a tiny bit of pink. B's not sunburned, but I did put some aloe on it.

I got Banana Boat baby sunscreen (er, I think.. one of the major brand names). It was a battle between that one that's 50+SPF and tear free, and another that was 60+SPF but didn't say anything about being tear free.
I know you'd probably want to get something a little more natural, though. :)
