Dec. 27th, 2006 11:10 amI have so many little projects I want to eventually accomplish that maybe I should start writing them down so if I ever find myself sitting here bored (imagine that) I can look at it and choose something to do.
I want to make Topie a little book of all her friends. We talked about this in the mommies' group, but it hasn't happened yet. The idea is to get pictures of her little friends, laminate them, punch a hole in the top corner and hold them together with a keyring. She loves to look at pictures and point and make comments (they make sense to her?) so I thought that would be fun. I should also do pictures of family and things she likes. Her own custom picture books.
I have three pairs of longies in the works for Topie, all in varying stages of done-ness. I should order some more Peace Fleece soon. Wool pants are so the way to go.
I'm making photo cubes for a few people. This was a project I was supposed to do well over a year ago now, but I'm finally sort of getting around to it. I have these cubes of cedar, cut at the hardware store, that I'm painting and them sticking Topie pictures on. Then I'll seal them with this sealer spray I found, and give them as late Christmas gifts. This idea came from the really cool photo cube Jake's mom has of Courtney and Jake as a baby.
I also want to make some t-shirts for Topie. Maybe a couple of Born at Home ones, a Water Baby one, one that says SILLY GOOSE, and whatever else I can think of.
I'm still trying to think of what I can do for a home business. Every time I think I have THE IDEA, I think of some reason why it's impractical. I definitely don't think knitting is the way to go. My time is more valuable than ever, and I could never charge an amount that would justify the time. Anyway, I'd rather knit for Topie. I was thinking of doing something with the Natural Family Boutique (it's set up like Mary Kay), but they never replied to my email, never sent me information, and the information they have posted on the website is inaccurate and pointless. Doesn't inspire confidence. Still, maybe I could host a party? At least get a discount, they sell lots of stuff I'd buy.
Maybe the photo cubes could be a business. Sort of like 3D scrapbooking?
I'm looking into herbalist correspondence courses. There are a couple I'm somewhat inerested in, but I wish I could see all the course material beforehand. It's hard to judge what you're actually getting yourself into.
It's snowing. Has been all day. I haven't been out yet, but I guess I should think about packing the kid up and going to Wegmans. Last night I made sandwiches for dinner, and I could seriously eat them all the time. The secret seems to be loading them up with veggies, like avocado, cucumber, tomato, sprouts, red onion. And mustard. Mmmmm.
