I feel sickeningly good and happy today.

I even had McDonalds for breakfast again. I feel no shame and no guilt. I enjoyed it immensely. I was going to make breakfast at home but discovered we are out of eggs.

I'm getting work done. I'm thinking. I'm able to smile and goof off with clients who come in, and it doesn't hurt my face. This is good.

i would kill people i liked at least marginally right now for some MickeyD's Breakfasty foods.

i don't care how healthy the rest of my eating choices must be, i have declared in my own life that Breakfast Food doesn't count.

it is my Weakness.

It's all about those nasty mcgriddles.

You have like, the WHOLE DAY to be good. The morning really doesn't count for anything anyway.

i'm an old-fashioned, classic kinda girl. it's all about the eggmcmuffins for me.

basically, i am just all about the "back that *sweet* off my breakfast foods!"
i have sugar issues in the morning, and eating sweet anything does horrible things to my stomach.

i'm one of those weird people who think the scots have good ideas about breakfast.

But so good...............

Actually, just the guinness would also be fine. Not as acceptable on a work day, but still fine.

Ditto here.

This stuff should be on my shopping list. Though I wonder if I could get the black and white here?

yeah.. but if i had a full pint for Breakfast, i would soo not be able to eat anything the rest of the day.

because i don't (can't) eat much at any given time, i have to go with half-pints. i am so sad that way. and they *suck* when poured into a full pint glass.. (the body doesn't hold up in the same way.. some will argue, but i have researched.)
so, i have to find pubs with "ladies' pints".

or.. i just get my fill sipping off that "just perfectly settled" moment in all my drunk friends' pints.

This old guy in a pub in Dublin bought me a half pint and I was so offended. I would have a half pint for breakfast though.

This reminds me of when I went to St. James Gate and went around pretending to be a waitress and took people's full and mostly full pints and drank them myself. Ah, good times.

i have friends here who had a band that played celtic music (k, the singer/fiddle player, said "old punks don't die.. they go back to the classics and play celtic tunes..), and you would have loved being one of the official groupies..

during a round of "pass the tip jar" one of our friends invented a new gimmick. "tip the band or i'll drink your beer!"

he did. and the band bought him some, anyways, because they made so much more money after the first couple tables he passed. ;)

(yeah, i feel like a wuss with the ha'pint thing. but it is like drinking bread.. and i really have trouble with that whole food-in-any-sort-of-volume thing.)

dammit. i just talked myself out of the energy of fixing eggs, too..

mmm.. i think there's sausage, tho..

(oh! wait! i haven't slept! i can have breakfast later!)

Totally not. Unless you skip the beans and bread and potatoes and guinness...okay, never mind.

it's *breakfast* food!

*breakfast* does not have carbs or calories or carcinogens or any of that crap.

it's *breakfast*.

I was justifying the whole "Breakfast Doesn't Count" idea to myself the whole two weeks I was in the States. All I will say is: Pancakes and Maple Syrup.

I so love that breakfast (blueberry pancakes and maple syrup fresh out of the tree!!!) but...see above comment for my ideal brekkie.
From: [identity profile] valancystirling.livejournal.com
I'm not exactly sure what all that is but it looks good.

How about this?

Rustic Italian breakfast?

From: [identity profile] nalidoll.livejournal.com
OMG, yum!

(and those were scotch eggs in the last photo i posted)

how's this: breakfast, new zealand style..

(i sense my next travel theme coming on...)
From: [identity profile] valancystirling.livejournal.com
I've read about scotch eggs. they're supposed to be like the least healthy thing on the planet, right?

the NZ one looks yummy.

I say we do a book: Breakfast Around the World. Obviously this will involve much travel and research.
From: [identity profile] nalidoll.livejournal.com
i missed this comment earlier..

i'm all for the book. i was trying to get sariane to run off and do travel guides with odd twists with me before she turned into a contented hermit.

i say we can do a whole series.
From: [identity profile] valancystirling.livejournal.com
Excellent. And I'm not just stuck on breakfast either. I'm also willing to do research into Cocktail Hour and Drinking Rituals Around the World...
From: [identity profile] nalidoll.livejournal.com
oh.. and scotch eggs..

sausage and breading thickly coating a hard-boiled egg.

i lurve them.
From: [identity profile] cers-kid.livejournal.com

I think I've developed a new habit.. there's a pub near my house that offers $5 breakfast/brunch on Sundays... big omelettes, toast, potatoes, meat for people that eat that stuff... very good and greasy, plus it makes a brilliant excuse to start and continue drinking quite early on Sundays!

Mmmmmmm sunday at noon.
