Apr. 19th, 2005 02:45 pmI keep thinking that I'm going to write a post that's not about how much fun morning sickness is, but I just can't come up with one. I write what's on my mind, and this is what's on my mind right now.
I got some things done this morning, took my books back to the library (not overdue!), and bought glass for a mosaic for Jake's dad's birthday, and then suddenly realised I HAVE TO EAT NOW. It's shocking how fast it comes on, but when I need to eat, there's no waiting around, it has to happen fast, and it has to be the right food. This often poses a problem. Like, today.
So I'm in the library parking lot, and I realise the only thing I will eat, on this planet, aside from Whataburger which we don't have, is a hamburger from Texas Roadhouse. I try to look up the number on my phone but they're not listed. Call Jake, GET ME THE PHONE NUMBER OR DIE. Can't find it, is about to look up their website, then he suggests he meet me there and we have lunch together. Fine, great, hurry. So I haul ass to get there, and THEY'RE CLOSED. Don't open till 4:00 apparently. Homocidal rage ensues. WHERE IS JAKE? Got stuck at the bank and showed up half an hour later. I'm about to start gnawing on the steering wheel. Of course, Jake does not have a cell phone. We've had this discussion many times and he consistently doesn't see any reason he should have one. I CAN THINK OF ONE NOW! Anyway, so he shows up, we deliberate, I call Uno's and have hamburgers waiting for us. So we eat.
What's really great is that after I eat, I think for a minute that I feel better, but then I realise it's just that I feel shitty in a different way, which is about as good as it gets for me lately.
And then I went to Taco Bell and got a huge Sprite, which I never drink because of the sugar. But it was wonderful. I was able to drink water for a few days, but now I can't again, which is annoying and scary because I get so thirsty and I force myself to drink it.
