I didn't sleep at all, the whole night.

I got up and watched some of Scrubs Season Two and made some Tension Tamer tea.

Now, of course, Topaz is wide awake and ready for the day (this is what I said I wanted, right?), and it doesn't look like I'll be getting any sleep, unless she takes a nap later. I suppose it's best if I just hold out and try to sleep tonight. Anyway, it's the weekend, so Jake can help more. Topaz wanted to eat all night, even though she was asleep through 95% of it, so he was awake a good bit of the time too. Poor Jake. At least I don't have to go to work and think. I don't know how he does it. I'm a big baby when it comes to sleep.

I found some of Ethan's baby pictures, and he looks like a boy version of Topaz. I didn't realise. I've only seen one picture of Elaine's new baby (did I ever mention she had her baby?), and she's completely different. Very dark.

Topaz did have one screaming fit, and it even woke her up last night. For a long time, she was having at least one a day, sometimes more, but now we've gone several days until this one. So far I've pretty much done what Jeanette told me to do: cut out corn, chocolate, and dairy. All that's left on the list for Topaz is sugar and most types of sweeteners. I'll work on that. I've cut way way back anyway for the thrush, but I still have maple syrup in my oatmeal sometimes, or a cherry coconut cookie from Down to Earth. But that's really it. Still, I guess it'll have to go, at least until I determine if it's a problem for her.

God I'm tired.

It occurred to me the other day that Topaz has been the center of my life for a whole year now. Weird to think. In a few months she'll be sitting up, and crawling. She's getting so big so fast, and she really seems like a little person. She's such a good baby.

Three times I had to get out of bed to get rid of excess milk. I was leaking all over myself. There's no way you can sleep when you're engorged, and the last thing I need is mastitis. Topaz was up nursing a lot, but not enough, apparently. I'm seriously wondering if this isn't part of a growth spurt. She's due for one. That would explain a lot.

I found two local moms groups in yahoo groups, and was very excited and posted to both immediately. Haven't heard back yet. Typical. Just like everything and everyone in Binghamton: dead or dying.
