I am bored out of my head. That's probably why I keep writing pointless posts.

I was in the bath with Topaz and was thinking out a list of goals to accomplish within the next five years. Or, to be really interesting, to accomplish by the time I'm 30. Which is LESS than five years. Oh dear lord, how did that happen??

In no particular order:

*my own lovely organic herb garden
*rose garden
*organic vegetable garden
*own a house
*make all my own cleaning supplies
*make all my own soap
*make all my own cleansers and beauty products
*take some classes toward an education degree
*have a sparsely furnished CLEAN house that's EASY to clean
*have a 4-5 year old little Topaz
*have a 2 year old baby
*either be pregnant or have a newborn
*yes, that means two more kids in the next 4-5 years
*have a daily exercise regimen
*have a social life of some kind
*establish healthy eating for myself and family
*live in a rural-ish area near a reasonable sized town
*be in really good shape
*find a hobby
*get involved in some sort of charitable activities
*find a church
*seriously study herbalism

Very cute! Seriously, there's just too much neat stuff out there. I've been trying to go minimalist, but there are just some things...

i've had to walk away from stupid baby einstein teething toys and amusements by reminding myself that we have enough (which is very little) because i leared my lesson by overwhelming zachery with an abundance of crap ;)

minimalist is good.
it means i can spend $120 on a durable baby carrier and have less money to buy silly toys at babies r us!

I started an "online course" on natural beauty products yesterday (there's like half of an LJ entry sitting around in Semagic on the topic). Lye makes me nervous, though.

Show me! I would love to do an online course right now.

Lye scares me too. I have some from two years ago when I wanted to try making soap, but I still haven't done it.

did you edit to add your last item?
or was i just being unobservant?

i've had a huge affinity for herbs my whole life and have seriously considered becoming an herbalist in the next four years, as well.

how weird...but maybe one day we'll be on a similar journey ;)

I did add that one. I've been wanting to do a real course for years, but I've always had to work. There's a really cool one in Ithaca, but I doubt it would work with the baby. So maybe next year. But I turn to herbs for everything that comes along and have a whole bookshelf devoted to my herbal books. It's as much a hobby as anything. I just love learning about it. Maybe one day I'll be the lady everyone in the neighborhood comes to for help.

new mexico probably has a few good programs, considering it's trendy to be into alternative health here. my midwife is an herbalist and mentioned the instructors of the two courses she's taken...supposedly they were awesome, but no longer teach here. they do have online/home studies courses, though, but when i do a google search i come up with a lot of stuff and its hard to know which ones are shams to be avoided.

i'll ask her for their names today :)

If you do figure out an online one that's not a scam, let me know.

You're in NM? I was just looking at your profile last night wondering where you live. What part? I have a friend in Albuquerque who I've been wanting to visit.

i didn't get to see my midwife, because they were having a birth at the center :(

but next week i'll talk to her :)

and i'm in albuquerque, too.
looking at your friend's list...i think i know who you're talking about...we used to be friends and i miss her greatly but things went mysteriously sour a couple of years ago.
