Feb. 17th, 2006 04:52 pmIt actually looks like the once a month spinning group, and the once a month mommies group are ON THE SAME FUCKING DAY. What, is 30 days not enough to choose from?? Fucking typical.
Topie and I had a great outing for once. It's sunny and gorgeous out, although freezing and windy like you wouldn't believe. We went to the mall first, and I got a silk camisole at NYC&CO that I imagine I'll wear when it gets warm, then a couple of cute button-down shirts and a skirt at Kaufmann's. Very pleased. I vowed I would buy no t-shirts today. The whole idea was not to look like a slob.
Topie was SO good today. I had to feed her once in the dressing room at NYC&Co, then once again at Kaufmann's. We also had a fun diaper experience. I don't know WHY she always does this, but she seems to save the really dramatic ones for when we're out. I'm so spoiled with the kissaluvs that just do not leak no matter what. But this time she was wearing the new swaddlebees organic velour pink diaper ($22!!!), and it leaked all over the place. It was a real joy, let me tell you. Fortunately I was in a dressing room with plenty of space, no audience, and a good sense of humour. It took forever to get her cleaned up.
Then we went to Vestal, where I parked somewhere in the middle of the big parking lot, put Topie in the stroller, and walked from Fashion Bug to Walmart to TJ Maxx(bought nothing at any of those places, just walking), then to Barnes & Noble. Fed her there too, right in the middle of the cafe. No one even noticed.
I can't get over how well-behaved she was all day. She never cried, except she started to fuss (loudly) when I was in line to pay at B&N. There were several ladies behind me who seemed amused by the two of us, since I was trying to talk Topaz out of making a big scene. She was smiley and happy all day, and so many people stopped to gush over her. At the mall, I noticed a young mom nursing her baby on a bench right in the middle of the mall. I smiled at her, but she didn't smile back. Oh, well. I keep thinking maybe I'll meet other moms with babies, but I think I must have the plague or something.
So we're home now, and she just ate AGAIN, and now's she's sleeping on the couch.
I got a Thai cookbook. I'm very excited about it. Now, to compose a shopping list from it.
I had such a great day, overall. It was so good to get out, get some sun and exercise, buy some decent clothes...and since Topaz was so good it was just fun.
I haven't eaten since 7am. A few pieces of bacon. I didn't really eat much yesterday either. Or the day before. I have GOT to make a point of buying more healthy snack foods and stuff that's super quick and easy to make, or else I just don't eat during the day.

Date: 2006-02-18 12:31 am (UTC)i keep trying out the four pockets we have - at home - to see if some combo of diaper and insert will work. i do love the trimness but i doubt they're worth the hassle.
