I've been looking at lots of websites that sell soakers and longies and assorted knitted stuff. So far I've been cheating myself, as I generally do, but that's okay because so far it's all been for my friends. If I plan to get serious about this, I'll have to come up with set pricing for all the possible options, which seems to be a standard thing to do. Everything extra should cost extra, because it all takes more time/work/materials. Pretty much I'm thinking I'll start at $30 per soaker, and make any embellishment cost maybe $5-10 extra, but I'll get all that worked out more specifically.

I've also had a lot of fun doing summery cotton hats, and knitted t-shirts, and now I'm thinking of making some tank tops as well. Maybe matching sets would be even better.

I'm trying to stay well within my range of comfort and time, which is easier than I thought. I have a list of things to make that are all sort of on a theme technique-wise, so that helps. I think I'm much mroe realistic now in my expectations of myself and what I can really accomplish in my day.

So right now I'm going to build up an inventory of as wide a variety of items as possible, photodocument them, and then post them here or on a new journal made specifically for that purpose. All very doable. I have more yarn than I can ever use in a lifetime, and this is a good way to use it up. I know how much I spent on all my yarn, so I can factor it in to the ultimate prices I charge for things.

I'm going to have to work out my policy on bartering. I suppose the point is that it's something I can either accept or not, based on what it is, when it is (i.e., if I really need money at that time), and if it's even something I want. Like right now, yarn is not really that appealing to me because I'm a yarn snob and I already have too much of it. But especially when it comes to crafty things--there are so many WAHMs who make amazing stuff that I would love to have. I would probably be more open to something like that. Particularly when it's something I could never make myself.

The nursing necklaces are promising, but I haven't had much mental time to sit down and work out a good technique. Soon, though.
