Jake and I had a long talk about how we should handle this should it ever happen to me (it has already, but not this extreme), and I've got a discussion going in the mommies' group about it. I am just sick about it.

We have a workshop tonight on writing a business plan, and in a couple of weeks there's another one on financing a start-up. Should be interesting. We also have an appointment next Tuesday with small business assistance type people who work with people like us and give us information and resources. I'm hoping we raelly get an idea of whether or not this thing is feasible.

Topie and I went to Pier 1 today and picked out some chairs. I want Jake to go look at them with us tomorrow but I think he'll like them. We're having the homebirth meeting at our house next week and we need seating for sure. It'll be nice to be able to have lots of people over comfortably.

Oh my god that is so fucked up. I'd like to think I would have maced her when she started running after me, and called the police saying some crazy bitch was trying to steal my baby.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can't keep their stupid opinions to themselves. I was shocked when you wrote about that happening to you, and am doubly shocked to hear that it seems to be a common occurrence.

I think it's frequent enough to need a protocol--I need to decide in advance how I'm going to handle it. It's unbelievable the things people will target you for.
