Feb. 1st, 2006 10:42 pmI'm a little bit worried. My doctor's appointment is tomorrow at noon, and for a week now I've been getting up between 2-4 pm after being up all night. I'm expecting maybe 3-4 hours of sleep, and then probably none until the next day. Jake can't really help right now because he had to go back in to work tonight and doesn't think he'll be back till 1-2am. Then he has to be back at work at 7am. So he'll have about 4 hours of sleep as well. So yeah, I'm worried.
I'm not sure what I'm going to say to the doctor tomorrow. Pretty much I want to have a bunch of bloodwork done, just to see. I want to know if I'm deficient in anything, any obvious problems, excessive heavy metals, that kind of thing. Then about the yeast...I don't know. It's getting worse and worse, nursing-wise. I've completely slacked off on the diet until this appointment. I don't know what she's going to be like or if she even prescribes drugs of any kind. I'm not even sure that's what I want anyway. I've read a lot of differing opinions on the nature of breastfeeding-related thrush. Some "experts" believe the milk ducts CAN be affected and that systemic drugs are the only treatment; and others say there is no real evidence that the milk ducts can be affected and that normal treatment of yeast in the gut should do just fine. This is what I want to discuss with her tomorrow. I just don't know enough about it.
Hopefully we can just make it a quick appointment and I can get back home and get more sleep. She's asleep in her car seat right now, so maybe I should take a shower now and be ready to go in a hurry in the morning. Of course, I can never really leave in a hurry anymore. Topie always has to be fed, changed, and dressed before I can go anywhere.
Holy crap, I'm leaking milk everywhere. I guess Ii should wake her up to eat.
