SO camera.

I can get the best price at walmart.com. I want to buy an extended service warranty. I've looked at every place I can think of that sells cameras, and with the camera plus warranty, walmart is the cheapest. Unfortunately, I am incredibly impatient and don't want to wait over a holiday weekend for it to get here. So is my impatience worth $50? I'm not sure. This is so stupid.

I think I'll probably order it on circuitcity.com and pick it up at the store tomorrow. The 4-year warranty is way more than anywhere else, ($79.99). That's the only downside. My camera lasted what, three years? I guess first I need to find out what the warranty covers exactly. If Topie throws it and breaks it, for example. Or slobbers it. Or whatever. It might be worthwhile for that.

Hmm.

Make sure you're getting the 4 year accidental. That covers EVERYTHING except loss or theft. So, if Topie throws it and it shatters, it will be covered. And if she drools on it and it makes the gears stop working, it's covered. Downside: the accidental is more expensive. Upside: If something happens, most stores will just replace it for you without you having to send it to the service center.

If you have any specific questions, let me know. This is what I do for a living :-) Circuit City wench, at your service. Also, I know you don't want to wait, but I can use my discount for you, if you want. That will discount the service plan, too.

Okay. Here's what's going through my head at the moment. circuitcity.com is cheaper than the actual store. They also have the most expensive warranty plan of anyone else I've seen.

Questions:

How much is the discount?
Is the accidental on top of the regular warranty, and how much is it?
How would I get it?

You are so sweet to even be offering this :)

Which camera did you settle on? As for how you'd get it, I can have it shipped directly to you from circuitcity.com. Give me the model and we'll go from there, but just an fyi, the store will match the web price, and you'll get 110% of the difference. So, if something is $100 bucks, and $10 cheaper on the website, you'd get 11 bucks off. We also match any price of any store in a 50 mile radius. So we'd match walmart.

Oh duh. Should have mentioned that. I'm pretty sure I want the Canon S2 IS.

Walmart.com is a whole $4.95 cheaper. I just stopped in circuit city and asked about the accidental coverage, and the guy told me it would be $129 for 4 years. Ugh. At this rate I might just have to wait until I can save up soem more money.

Okay, the camera would be 353.76 and the 4 year accidental would be 97.49. Add on 6% PA sales tax and the total is 478.33 for the whole shebang. Shipping is free if you take the standard, 3-9 business days deal. Otherwise the charges would be somewhere between 8 and 20 bucks. Keep in mind, at circuit city, you can purchase the camera, and then add the warranty within 30 days. You absolutely DO NOT have to buy it at the time of purchase.

The camera itself is $349 on the website, and the guy at the store told me they would give me that price.

If I can buy the warranty later, can I get that through you even if I go ahead and buy the camera here tonight?

Unfortunately not. The whole thing has to be on the same receipt, under my employee number. :-( I'm sorry...
